Today is National Child Health Day. This year’s celebration will focus on Upholding Children’s Rights During the Pandemic, with the theme “Sama-samang Itaguyod Ang Karapatan ng Bawat Bata sa Panahon ng Pandemya!”. It aims to promote the protection of all children and their rights and provide practical support to parents and caregivers on how to care for children and themselves during the pandemic.
The Department of Health, together with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is implementing a nationwide Measles, Rubella, and Oral Polio Vaccine Supplemental Immunization Activity (MR-OPV SIA) in two phases, in order to prevent a measles outbreak in the coming months, and to end the currently ongoing poliovirus transmission and re-circulation in the country.
Together, let us safeguard the well-being of our children and ensure a healthier future for our nation.
